Since he became a Toronto attorney in 2015, which is when he was admitted to the Ontario Bar, Andrei Korottchenko has built up a pretty good track record in a number of practice areas. Mostly, Andrei practices in the areas of maritime and transportation law, with an emphasis on cargo recovery, but he is not limited to those areas, by any means. In fact, he also has significant experience handling matters involving subrogation and insurance defence. He is something of an activist attorney, having spent more than a decade in the Naval Reserve, including service on naval ships and bases all over Canada, and overseas.
Andrei Korottchenko seems to have impressed a lot of people because he often has the opportunity to instruct other lawyers about what he knows. For example, in In June 2016, he led a presentation on International trade traffic flows at a conference held in New Orleans by the Association of Transport Law Professionals. Then, in January 2017, Andrei co-presented, with Hilary Weise, a presentation at the Motor Truck Council of Canada in Guelph, Ontario, called “Third-Party Contracts. As a member of the Young Lawyers Division of the Ontario Bar Association, Andrei Korottchenko has thus far run a number of continuing legal education seminars.
In service to his legal career, Andrei Korottchenko is a member of both the Ontario Bar Association and the Canadian Bar Associations, as well as the Toronto Lawyers Association and the Canadian Maritime Law Association.Before landing in Toronto, Andrei worked in Germany and the United States, where he was in-house legal counsel for the largest break bulk carrier company in the entire world and played an important role in many important commercial and corporate matters, including complex purchase transactions and vessel sales.
